Visioning for the Future: Why Are We Here?

After much prayer and conversation, our leadership team is convicted that our purpose for existence as a church can be summed up in this phrase; “reflecting Jesus in our diverse world.” Like most of these kinds of statements, we’re trying to say as much as we can in as few words as possible. Which begs the question, “What do we really mean when we talk about reflecting Jesus?” In an extraordinary confrontation between Peter and John and the Jewish Sanhedrin, Luke writes that the Sanhedrin could tell that “these men had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13) What would happen in our community if people could tell that CDA members didn’t just know about Jesus, but the had been with Him enough to reflect Him instead of themselves?
