The holiday we are about to celebrate is the ultimate moment for us to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy. Most could tell you at least one story of how we won our independence. But how many of us could explain what it takes to preserve the freedoms that we have inherited? From the evidence around us, the freedoms we take for granted may well be in danger, not from enemies without, but from apathy within. What does the God who came to set us free have to say about how to protect the freedom we’ve been given?
