Visioning for the Future: Reflecting Jesus
Today, our culture appears to be splitting apart at the seams. We are more fragmented in our politics, our entertainment, our workplaces, and even our churches than ever before. The norm seems to be to find others that you agree with and then attack those you don’t. As the Elders have prayed over who God is calling us to be, we have been convicted that we are to “Reflect Jesus in our diverse world.” This week we consider the implications of reflecting Jesus in the midst of the radical diversity we find both without and within our congregation. What would happen if a group of people who were very obviously different from each other could just as obviously live with each other in genuine love and unity.
