On Fire

Since 9/11 our national conversations have often been dominated by thoughts of security in the face of terrorism.  Something that used to be thought of as coming from outside our borders is now something we fear from within.  Home grown terrorists becoming radicalized right here in the US.  Theories about regarding what tips the scales in a young person’s life to turn them into a bomb-wielding zealot, including a sense of alienation, and the desire to be passionately committed to a cause.  Which brings us to a challenge as believers in the cause of Christ.  The opposing forces of apathy and fanaticism aren’t just challenging our political security, they threaten our church family as well.  What’s the difference between a passionate Christian and a fanatic.  We’ll ask the Apostle Paul, because he’s been on both sides of the fence.
